How the process works

Step 1: Discovery

Our first step is a 1-hour visit to learn about you and your space. We’ll focus on your areas of concern and discuss how the current state of things is negatively impacting your life. We’ll then talk about how you’d like to use these spaces and how you’d like to feel when you are in them. Next, we set a plan for how to get you there!

Step 2: Sort & purge

Embracing Your Space pros work with you to identify what is clutter and what are treasures. You’ll be surprised just how much fun this can be when you work with someone who is compassionate, understands you, and values the way you want to use your space. Ultimately, you make all the decisions on what to keep as we facilitate the process and keep your project on track.

Step 3: Organize

An “organized” space is different for each client. Now that we have cleared the field and know what you plan to keep, we determine the best, most productive use of your space. We balance functionality with beauty and aesthetics. As we work, you’ll begin to feel more peaceful in your space. You’ll experience a sense of joy and a clear head each time you walk into the room.

Step 4: Create systems

We create systems that are easy for you to use and maintain. Everything you own should have a home within reach so it can easily go back where it belongs. Because you and your space are unique, we make sure to put things where they make sense for you and your life.

Step 5: Product recommendations

Most often our storage solutions will use containers, baskets, and furniture you already own. We can repurpose and reuse what you have in creative ways to fit your needs. If you do need extra containers, we can help facilitate the purchase of bins and baskets that are right for you. For some clients, shopping for new containers is the best thing about the whole organizing process!

Step 6: Remove ~ sell ~ donate ~ shred

What to do with all the leftovers? Embracing Your Space makes that easy too! From heavy furniture to bags of trash and sensitive papers, we will make it all go away! There are many great organizations here in the Bay Area that would love to receive much of what needs to go. We can make arrangements for pick-up with your charity of choice or plan to haul the items away for donation. For many projects we can simply cart away small donations and papers for shredding at the end of the day.

Step 7: Enjoy!

Now all that’s left to do is to sit back, relax, and enjoy your newly organized space.
